Pour a hot drink into this officially licensed Lord of the Rings Clue Mug and watch Gandalf’s stand against the Balrog come through in fire and smoke. While it is cool, the black 16 oz Morphing Mugs® Heat-Sensitive Clue Mug shows only a few pieces of the Fellowship of the Ring artwork: carved stone pillars, curls of golden flame, and Gandalf the Grey holding up his glowing staff. Add coffee or tea and the full scene appears, along with the words “You Shall Not Pass!” in gold, making it a fun choice for your morning cup or a Fellowship of the Ring movie night.
When hot, the mug shows the full artwork in charcoal gray, burnt orange, and gold. On the front, the Balrog looms out of the flames with glowing eyes, while Gandalf the Grey stands below with the tip of his staff shining bright. Gold lettering reading “You Shall Not Pass!” runs along the bottom of the scene, hidden until the mug warms. Near the handle, tall carved stone pillars rise through dark smoke tinged with orange, and on another side The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring logo appears in gold above a swirl of golden flame.
This ceramic mug holds 16 oz, giving you room for a full cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa. A heat-sensitive coating covers most of the artwork in black until hot liquid warms the outside of the mug, then the fire, smoke, stonework, logo, and lettering fill in around the pieces that were already showing. Hand wash only to help protect the specialty finish; the mug is not microwave safe or dishwasher safe.

16 Ounce Morphing Mugs® Heat-Sensitive Clue Mug
This color-changing ceramic Clue Mug leaves part of its artwork showing at room temperature, giving a preview of the full design hidden under the black heat-sensitive coating. Pour in a hot beverage and the complete image comes into view as the surface warms. The 16 oz size works well for coffee, tea, or cocoa, and the partial clue design keeps the mug interesting on a shelf between uses.
